For the Illustration Friday theme of "Safety," I submit a linocut illustration from the educational picture book, Steam! Taming the River Monster, written by Pat Perrin and Wim Coleman and published by Red Chair Press. The story is part of a series of plays, Setting the Stage for Fluency. It is a historical fiction account of the maiden voyage of Robert Fulton's first steamboat, The Clermont. The art was commissioned by Dinardo Design. Friday, 13 October 2017
