For the Illustration Friday theme of "Safety," I submit a linocut illustration from the educational picture book, Steam! Taming the River Monster, written by Pat Perrin and Wim Coleman and published by Red Chair Press. The story is part of a series of plays, Setting the Stage for Fluency. It is a historical fiction account of the maiden voyage of Robert Fulton's first steamboat, The Clermont. The art was commissioned by Dinardo Design.
Sue Todd illustrates for children's publishing, advertising, editorial, festivals and more. Her technique is linocut with digital color. She has illustrated several children's picture books, magazines, posters, t-shirts and a bus.

Illustration Friday, a third "Mother"
My last submission for the Illustration Friday theme of Mother. This was a cover of Words of Life magazine, Novalis Publishing.
Illustration Friday, another "Mother"
This is the second submission for Illustration Friday's theme of Mother, a cover from The Little Lutheran/Little Christian magazines.
Illustration Friday, "Mother"
I've been away from Illustration Friday for awhile and found three from the archives for the theme of Mother. This nativity scene was a greeting card design, a linocut coloured in Photoshop. The other two are following in separate posts.
